Carol is a retired occupational therapist. She worked in hospitals and a non-profit clinic primarily with infants and children with digestive and eating problems related to developmental and medical diagnoses. Experience working closely with families and an interdisciplinary feeding team informs her faith in the power of people with different skills and backgrounds coming together to promote progress. Carol believes that parents of children with special needs should be able to focus on helping their children develop and grow, not waste their time and energy navigating complex insurance, medical and educational systems. Working with children and families has inspired Carol to advocate for single payer health care for everyone. She was an elected member of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party from 2012 to 2019.
