They’re Coming After Traditional Medicare Sooner Than Later
One of the best aspects about original or traditional Medicare is that unlike Medicare Advantage, there’s almost an absence of prior authorizations needed for equipment and medical procedures.
That’s going to change as soon as January 1, 2026 due to implementation of a “new model to test the expansion of prior authorization in traditional Medicare.” Rachel Madley writes, “This model, which expands a process that is causing patients and providers harm and uses companies and technology that are worse at administering the process than the public Medicare program, is misguided at best and insidious at worst.” Read the article HERE.

Medical debt is the biggest reason Americans declare bankruptcy. Dental and veterinary practices and increasingly medical practices are offering medical credit cards. It’s a scam that involves preying on people when they are most vulnerable. In The American Prospect, Bryce Covert presents this scam and victims’ stories. She writes, “If the country had universal health care, as virtually every other developed country does, medical credit cards would likely have no market.”
Why Are Children In The USA Dying At A Higher Rate?
As compared to children in similar high-income countries, our kids are dying at higher rates. This CNN article by Jen Christensen explains not only how environmental factors affect children but also the fact that chronic medical conditions are increasing. “I think we all should be disturbed by this,” said Dr. Chris Forrest, a professor of pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and director of the Applied Clinical Research Center. “Kids in this country are really suffering.”
