SOLIDARITY DURING CRISIS

Hi {{ FirstName | default: "Friend" }},

Whether your life has been upended or you are indirectly affected and on edge due to the fires in southern California, we want to stay in touch and continue to rally together for single-payer health care. The physical and mental health care implications of these fires are huge and reinforce the need for CalCare, a single-payer financing system.

We provide a link so you can check air quality in your area and an article about fires and their effect on our mental health. See our lists of donations and support for people in Los Angeles who have lost their homes and belongings, support for incarcerated firefighters, disaster relief programs and information for Los Angeles County and information for all Californians. Finally, we await a new day and time for the HC4US Radio Show.

WILDFIRES
PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH

Air quality is concerning especially if people are pregnant or have respiratory conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and asthma. Go to The National Weather Service page, on the right, click on AirNow Air Quality Forecast and enter your zip code to see local current air quality and how this relates to outdoor activity.

Our mental health is being challenged, see the Axios article, The psychological toll of California's catastrophic fires.
