Hello,

 

The California Legislature is not yet allowing CalCare, Assembly Bill 1900 to move forward. We’re still waiting for the Rules Committee to assign it to the Assembly Health Committee. Assemblymembers, especially some who are in positions of leadership, need more pressure from Californians to do the right thing. Time is tight – if it gets to the Assembly Health Committee, CalCare must pass this committee by April 21st to continue on its legislative course.

We have two phone call actions you can take. 

 

1 – CNA Virtual Phone Banks

 

When: Wednesday April 15 and Thursday April 16, both at 3-5 PM, Pacific Time. 

 

What: CNA organizers will do a quick training. Then you’ll call CalCare supporters and voters in key districts and patch them through to their assemblymembers’ offices so they can say they want CalCare. CNA provides ongoing help during the phone bank.

2 – Call 3 High Priority Assemblymembers

If you can’t attend a phone bank, these calls take minutes and are very helpful. It’s OK to call these legislators even though you aren’t their direct constituent. Our records show that you are NOT in their districts and the tested scripts address this.
