We hope you are staying cool and healthy.

Our board of directors took a break after the demise of the CalCare bill, but now we’re back with new ideas and events. Why do we stay in the fight? Because we believe health care is a human right and single-payer financing is one of the best ways to decrease racial inequities and homelessness. We need to grow the single-payer/Medicare for All movement with continued outreach and education. 

Updates about how the government continues to take away our access to health care and petitions to counteract the damage are provided. 

We’re sharing events in San Francisco and Los Angeles. We’ll be tabling at the events in Los Angeles and we want your input on how to attract people to our booths with new messaging.

Even if you believe that this is hopeless, and the Trump administration will charge ahead regardless, overwhelming opposition in public comment periods will be cited during the inevitable legal challenges to the implementation. Your voice matters, right now.

Tell Congress Why the Older Americans Act Matters

The Older Americans Act (OAA) funds advocacy programs, Adult Protective Services, food delivery to homes and congregate meals, transportation and caregiver support. These programs protect and support older adults, including nursing home residents.

Reach out to your Member of Congress to share what reauthorization of the OAA means to you and your loved ones! Tell them to vote yes to support the Older Americans Act through fiscal year 2030.

LaborFest In San Francisco This Saturday, July 25

Where: 518 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA

When: 1-5 PM

This FREE organizing conference will include presentations on the campaign for single payer in unions throughout California and the struggle of healthcare workers and the people of the state to build a movement to overcome the control of California politicians and the billionaire control of our health care system.

Mar Vista Park Night Out For Safety and Liberation

Where: Mar Vista Recreation Center – Picnic Area 2, 11430 Woodbine St,

When: Tuesday, August 4th, 5-8 PM

Night Out For Safety and Liberation is an abolitionist community gathering rooted in the belief that safety comes from strong communities, not policing. As an alternative to “National Night Out,” the event brings together organizations building safety through mutual aid, housing justice, immigrant defense, racial justice, and community care.
